Meet the Team

Dominique Vanthournout MRCVS (OV) - Veterinary Surgeon

Dominique is originally from Belgium where she graduated as a veterinary surgeon in 1984.  She has worked for the Goddard Group since 2002 and has a special interest in internal medicine and small furries.

In her spare time Dominique is the privileged owner of three dogs and one cat.

Jacqueline Escobar MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon

Jacqui joined the team at Barking in December 2015 after moving to London, having previously worked in Melbourne, Australia where she graduated as a veterinary surgeon in 2012.  Jacqui loves all aspects of general practice and is really enjoying meeting the clients and patients at Barking.

In her spare time Jacqui loves soaking up all that London has to offer, exploring Europe at every opportunity and speaking to her dog via Skype.  Kiadi, her naughtly Japanese Spitz, is still currently living in Australia and is sorely missed!

Kim Church - Registered Veterinary Nurse

Kim joined the team at Barking in 2014 having qualified as an RVN in 2010 after completing a 4 year degree in veterinary nursing at the Royal Veterinary College.  Kim has special interest in dentistry and animal behaviour and hopes to further her knowledge in these areas.  Kim is the Barking surgery's ISFM cat advocate and has the ISFM certificate in feline nursing.

In her spare time Kim enjoys cooking and spending time with her three cats, Ginge who was abandoned with his litter mates at a week old and who Kim hand-reared into the monster he is today, Penny who spends all her day hunting mice, and the newest addition Beanz who was brought into the surgery when Kim had only been at Barking for three weeks and ended going home with her. Kim also has a dog called Tilly who is a Pug x Yorkshire terrier and loves everyone and everything!

Samara Brunning - Student Veterinary Nurse

Samara joined the Goddard Group in 2010 and transferred from our Goodmayes surgery to join the team at Barking in 2012.  Samara qualified as a Veterinary Care Assistant in 2014 and will commence her VN Diploma in 2015.

Samara has a keen interest in feline behaviour and hand reared and adopted a four week old kitten which had been abandoned at the branch.  She joins Samara's other pets - Buster the crazy cocker spaniel and her rescued Sphinx cat Bob (pictured above), otherwise known as the Marmite cat.....
